Long-serving Standard Bus driver Hubert Ruminsky recently drove a class of robotics school students from Honolulu, Hawaii, to Haines Junction as part of their trip to the Yukon.

He stopped the motorcoach just outside Haines Junction to take a beautiful picture of the St. Elias mountain range that crosses into Alaska.

Not only did his passengers experience Yukon’s stunning topography, but they also got an authentic taste of northern Canada’s bone-chilling temperatures. The daytime high on that sunny Yukon day was approximately -35 Celsius – a far cry from Honolulu’s average high of +29 Celsius.

That’s a 64-degree temperature swing!

We want to send a big shout-out to Hubert for taking such great care of his group and keeping those Hawaiians warm!
